Adult Journeys

Adult Journey
9:15 a.m. each Sunday
If you can devote an hour a week to intentionally strengthen your connection with God, then join one of our discussion groups for an ongoing, peer-led dialogue about what we believe, what we don’t know, and what we seek to better understand.
Ever wonder where you can talk to friends about something deeper than sports, the kids’ sports, the grandkids’ sports, politics, or who’s going to win American Idol? Our Adult Journey discussion groups are the place to deepen your relationship with Christ and explore some of life’s most enduring mysteries. (And our coffee hour after each service is a great place to talk about sports, kids, grandkids, and whether Malinda should have taken the prize. We Episcopalians love a good discussion on almost any topic!)
How does Adult Journey work? Well, initially, two peer-led discussion groups meet each Sunday at 9:15. One group is a welcoming place for those of us who are new to our spiritual journey, interested in learning or reviewing the fundamentals of Christianity. The other group includes those of us who’ve been studying spiritual works for some time and seek friends who want to exchange ideas and support each other’s learning journey. Anchor leaders ensure each group is a safe, welcoming place to explore our faith, challenge our beliefs, and learn from scripture, reason, tradition and experience. The curriculum is lectionary-based, and the facilitator has a great deal of latitude each week. The two groups will also interact during the year, so the free exchange of ideas is respected, and the benefits of the extended family our intergenerational congregation represents are fully realized.
If you miss a Sunday here and there, it is no big deal. These are casual, welcoming groups, and we understand that life happens. The goal is to support each other as we deepen our connection to Christ, and you are welcome to join the discussion as you can, when you can.
