Outreach
"Life's most urgent question is: What are you doing for others?" Martin Luther King, Jr.
You are invited to make a difference in the lives of others through outreach at Christ’s Episcopal Church. The Christ’s Church outreach team supports those in need within the congregation, our local community, and the world.
True to its mission statement, “To risk making a difference by challenging boundaries through education, finance and action,” Outreach is always interested in supporting new projects or answering the call for volunteers. We fund our efforts through the church, coupon sales and fundraisers. We support a variety of organizations and causes, including Afghanistan Refugees; AIDS Awareness; Adopt a Family; Bell Ringing (Salvation Army); Bonfils Blood Center; Douglas County Task Force; Global Peace Foundation; Jail Ministry; Kenyan Children's Foundation; Mitten Tree; St. Francis Center; Village Bank (FINCA); and the Women's Crisis Center.

Congregation Cares Needs Your Help - Caring for our Christ's Church community
We are all called to care for one another. Jesus asks us to “Love one another” and Congregation Cares is about doing just that. We want to demonstrate his love by caring for each other in practical, tangible ways. God is made visible through our loving actions between each other, our church community and how we model Christ to the world.
The primary purpose of Congregation Cares is to love and support each other. We want to demonstrate that Christ’s Church is a caring community. Our focus is receiving God’s love and allowing that love to emanate from us. With that in mind, we are establishing Care Teams to help us take the initiative, equip one another to overcome the fears that we may have in helping one another, and to experience the gift of loving and caring.
Initially we are setting up four Care Teams, led by a Coordinator, to address specific areas of care.
- Encouragement & Prayer - send cards and various forms of correspondence when encouragement is needed; and to include a member in our prayer circles.
- Community Care - provide meals, emergency transportation, minor home repairs and yard work.
- Bereavement - extend to families of Christ’s Church grief support and continued support.
- Visitation - hospitals, hospice, shut-in homes and long term care facilities.
Each team will work in coordination with our Clergy and other groups in the church.
We want to build Congregation Cares in preparation for the growth of the Christ’s Church community. Care Teams are in the process of being formed and everyone is welcome to help. Please pray for guidance, ask questions, discuss this program with others, and get involved.
If you are interested in becoming a team leader or joining a care team, please contact Deacon Maria at 303-688-0603.
Thank you in advance for helping others in Christ’s Church community.
Blessings, The Congregation Cares Team
