Christian Education
At Christ’s Church, our lifelong quest to learn and understand is reflected in our mission, our core values, and the variety of learning opportunities we provide. Our value states that we strive to
· ENCOURAGE those on the lifelong learning path by:
- Acknowledging and exploring the ongoing relevance of the tension of opposites
- Educating and challenging one another as we pray, study, explore, and learn
- Appreciating each other as fellow spiritual seekers amid life’s mysteries.
To live this value, we offer a wide-ranging Christian education program for children and adults; Children are welcome at Sunday School, youth group, Children’s Chapel and our Play Area (for the very youngest among us). For adults, we offer Adult Journeys, peer-led discussion groups and classes for adults each Sunday; Discovery Workshops provided four times a year for those new to the Episcopal church -- and all with questions about Christ’s Church, the Episcopal Church, and God; and Bible Study for men and women at various times during the week.
The Adult Journey classes usually start at 9:15 and last an hour. They are between our Sunday services so people can stay after the first service or come early before the second. We provide Sunday School for children at that time as well as Children’s Chapel during our 10:30 service. We also have brown bag Bible Study on Mondays, where all are welcome. The men’s Bible Study group meets on Saturdays. Finally, we schedule occasional education series designed around specific themes throughout the year.
As you continue on your lifelong learning path, you and your family are welcome in our education programs - as seekers, teachers, or both.
