Ushers and Greeters

We want to make sure all visitors feel welcome at Christ’s Episcopal Church. Each of us knows how it feels to walk into a new place without knowing exactly what to do, and how good it feels when someone helps bridge that awkward moment with a kind word or friendly guidance.  As a greeter or an usher, you have the opportunity to make new acquaintances as you help tentative visitors become comfortably secure.  Welcoming newcomers is also a wonderful task to share with your family; we particularly love having parents serving as ushers bring their children to help us greet everyone and hand out bulletins.

Often a visitor’s first impression of Christ’s Episcopal Church is from the warm welcome they receive from the ushers.  In addition to being the official greeters for visitors, newcomers  and parishioners, along with assisting during the service, the ushering team ensures they have the proper handouts for the service, that newcomers and visitors are acknowledged, that data cards are collected, and that the church is tidy following the service.
