Christmas at Christ's Episcopal Church
in Castle Rock, Colorado

Dear Family,

Imagine a Christmas where every child in our Global community is well fed, adequately clothed, properly sheltered, and loved into abundant life.  Imagine a Christmas where every soldier has gone home to be with their families and friends.  Imagine a Christmas where the scorn, anger, fear, blame, and shame have disappeared and found new homes in affirmation, trust, hope, forgiveness, reverence, joy, and peace.  Imagine your own hearts and homes filled with the Spirit of Life and Love.

Stop right now.  Look into your heart.  Listen to the silent inner music of that Holy night where Christ Jesus was born into the safety and security of our souls.  Imagine that manger scene as happening right here and now in the privacy of your own home.  Imagine that scene being played out wherever you are.  Imagine that you are Mary, Joseph, Jesus, the Magi, the shepherds, the animals,  the star.  What are you feeling?  What are you sensing?  What are your hopes and dreams?  Do you feel the Peace in that place called Home deep inside yourself?  Can you imagine the presence of that spiritual awakening in your life?

Breathe deep.  Relax the muscles in your face, shoulders, and back.  Let your imagination run to Christmas past, present, and future.  See yourself and the others in a new way.  See the light that’s shining from each person.  See into the eyes of the children.  See with the eyes of a child, the anointed Christ child that you are.  Awaken to the true gift of Christmas Presence.  Awaken to Peace on Earth and goodwill among all.  Through your participation, this Christmas is made real.  In every thought, word, and action let us breathe the breath of God.  Let us imagine and activate God’s mission of Love, Joy, and Peace on earth. I pray that we begin here and now to fulfill God’s dream by living it.

Giving Life and Light in Christ,
