Ruminations from the Rector for December, 2009
Embrace the Wonder in this new season, this new beginning. Embrace the Wonder in the breath you are now taking. Embrace the Wonder in your ability to smile, laugh, poke fun of yourself, and see the humor in your seriousness. Embrace the Wonder in the privilege of service. Embrace the Wonder in being a custodian, steward, and guardian of Life’s mysteries and resources. Embrace the Wonder in your parents, siblings, children, friends and pets. Embrace the Wonder in welcoming others, in your invitation to relationships and your commitment to love. Embrace the Wonder in the water that comes out of the faucet when you open the valve. Embrace the Wonder of heat that comes into your house when it’s cold outside. Embrace the Wonder in your ability to care and create; to reverence all that’s here for you. Embrace the Wonder of silence and movement.
This is just the beginning of a list that could be built as you begin awakening to what’s right in front of you.
Instead of taking it all for granted, you can Embrace the Wonder in All by Stilling, Trusting, Opening and Presencing. Advent is a time of expectancy: knowing that the new is coming and is already here. Christmas is the gift of giving and receiving the Wonder. Stop, Look, Listen, Awaken!

See if any of them apply to your experience, your expectancy……… Accomplishment, Admiration, Aliveness, Amazement, Astonishment, Attentiveness, Awakening, Awareness, Awesome, Beauty, Curiosity, Delight, Deep Knowing, Effervescence, Empowerment, Enthusiasm, Excitement, Extraordinary, Generative, Healthy, Hearty, Humble, Imaginative, Inspiring, Magnificent, Marvelous, Miraculous, Mystery, Natural, Newness, Openness, Opportunity, Perspective, Possibility, Presence, Recollection, Reconnection, Reflection, Refreshment, Remembrance, Sacredness, Smiley, Soulful, Supernatural, Surprise, Vitality, Vivified, Wealthy, Wise, and Wonderful…………….
During the next month, simply attend to Embracing the Wonder in All as much as possible. Change this one thing, and you’ll change your world and everything in it. See through the illusion of separation into the reality of sacred unity. This is the mission of Anointing, Christos.
