Ruminations from the Rector - August 2009
Wealth is the Awareness that you are a part of the sacred unity of All – Life – God.
Wealth is the Knowledge that there are invisible forces at work to bring you into alignment with the Abundance of Life. Wealth is an inner disposition that helps you know that no matter what, all is well and all will be well. It is a conscious attitude of abundance, appreciation, generosity and flow. Wealth is knowing that you are a conduit of Life energy that has the awesome power of creation and connectivity as well as all its opposites. Wealth is embracing the generative gift of Life and bringing this Abundance of Life to life in every breath, every heartbeat, and every interaction with everything!
In the past seven months here at Christ’s Episcopal Church, we have begun to experience this flow of Life in new ways. The Education team is revitalized. The Vestry is reconfiguring and stepping up to new challenges. The Finance team is creating a whole new way of interacting and engaging with the income/expenses and designing new ways to participate in the sacred stewardship of Abundant Living for All. Rooms have been transformed, clutter eliminated, office space reconfigured, staff realigned, leadership and management transitioned with more empowerment, optimism, affirmation, reverence and joy coming forth. We have moved from anxiety to understanding, from denial to encouragement, from indifference to illumination, from can’t do it to can do it, conduit!
There are so many distractions that pull at us, take us away from the flow of Life’s great abundance. God comes to us as the very essence of Life to enliven and empower us to the unimaginable power that dwells in, around and through us. As you Awaken to this infinite power of creation and connectivity you begin to recognize that you are the one who is called to transform thoughts, feelings, words and actions into living food for self and others. Jeshua said “I am the bread of Life.” As he says this, he infers that as you eat of this bread, Divine Life Energy, you become that bread. With this connection of being the bread of Life, the food of new abundant Life, you are blessed to be the blessing that creates a whole new way of being for yourself and all creation. You are the one who makes the difference. You are the one who Life breathes and acts through. The more you realize this the more alignment, the more alignment the more awareness, the more awareness the more engagement and transformation, and so it goes. After Mass on the 30th of August at 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Gathering Place in Bowen Hall, we are having an all-congregational meeting to inform, get feedback, and ask for your input concerning where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re going. The last meeting dealt with Education. This meeting will deal with Finances, and the next quarterly meeting will deal with Growth. You are a significant part of the Life Force that is here for the creative and connective growth and sustainability of this community. Plan on bringing the bread of Life that you are to this gathering and share in the Wealth.
