The Playhouse
Newborn to age four are welcome in The Playhouse in the Undercroft from 9:00 a.m. until noon each Sunday (10 - noon from June 12 thru September 4). Renovated by our creative, artistic, and safety-savvy volunteers during the summer, The Playhouse provides a welcoming environment for your youngest children, who will be surrounded by hand-crafted, child-friendly artistry, age-appropriate toys and books, and new friends.
While you enjoy a well-deserved reconnection with God during the worship service, a revitalizing discussion in The Gathering Place, an uninterrupted cup of coffee or simply a solitary walk around the church grounds and historic neighborhood, our staff will watch over your little ones. We require paid staff and volunteers alike to undergo child safety training and background checks, so they bring expertise as well as loving care to their service.
The Playhouse is furnished so that the little ones can enjoy some socializing and fun in a safe, comfortable, baby-proofed area. If you choose to stay with your children during the service, we pipe audio from the Sanctuary into the area so you can hear the prayers, music and sermon. In whatever way you choose, you can recharge your spiritual batteries while your little ones make new friends.
