Children

Today’s world is a tumultuous one, filled with noise and motion. It is difficult to slow down, listen, and discern the holy voice among all the other sounds competing for one’s attention. This is particularly true of children and teens, with our busy schedules – sports, clubs, online activities, and everything else going on. With cell phones, texting and online social sites, we are more connected than ever. Everything we do is more public than ever. This connectivity has good and bad points. We can learn more about whatever we want just by searching for it on the Internet. But we cannot always find sanctuary, a safe place to just be, hang out with good friends, and trust each other. Christ’s Church offers that sanctuary via our Children's Chapel for Elementary age, Middle School and High School programs, and our play area for our youngest parishioners, The Children’s Place.
At Christ’s Church, one of our core values is to
SUPPORT the well-being, happiness, and spiritual growth of children by:
- Inspiring them to faith; instilling a love of church as a source of sanctuary and renewal throughout their lives
- Nurturing and educating children, honoring the trust that God has placed in us, so that they can grow strong in their spiritual lives and walk the path of faith Christ has shown us.
We welcome and support children from infancy through the teen years. Reflecting God’s unconditional welcome and love, we offer sanctuary, starting with The Children’s Place, Children's Chapel for Elementary age, Middle School and High School programs for the older crowd. Everyone who works with children at Christ’s Church is required to participate in the Safeguarding God’s Children class, an educational program for recognizing and preventing child abuse, sponsored by the Episcopal Church.
